The Princess of Wales took on a prominent role on Tuesday as Britain rolled out the red carpet for the state visit of Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
King Charles III and Queen Camilla are hosting Tinubu and his wife, Oluremi Tinubu, at Windsor Castle in a visit marked by ceremony and tradition.
The visit is historic, being the first by a Nigerian leader to the UK in 37 years, and also the first state visit by a Muslim leader during Ramadan in nearly a century.

The Princess of Wales, alongside her husband Prince William, welcomed the Nigerian president and First Lady at Fairmont Windsor Park, before accompanying them to Windsor town centre for a formal reception by the King and Queen.
The royal hosts and their guests later participated in a grand carriage procession through Windsor, showcasing British pageantry, before arriving at the castle’s quadrangle for a ceremonial Guard of Honour.
The visit is expected to continue with a state banquet at Windsor Castle, rounding off a day of high-level diplomacy and royal tradition.
