Security agencies in Kwara State have been placed on high alert following intelligence about planned attacks targeting Ifelodun, Irepodun, and Isin Local Government Areas in the Kwara South Senatorial District. The suspected terrorists are reportedly preparing to strike simultaneously on March 23 and March 28, 2026.

Authorities, including the Kwara State Police Command and the chairmen of the affected local governments, have been notified and are intensifying precautionary measures to protect communities. Security operatives across the region have been deployed to monitor potential threats and prevent any assaults.

Elder Olaitan Oyin-Zubair, Coordinator of the Joint Security Watch, urged residents to stay vigilant, report suspicious activities, and cooperate with security agencies. He emphasized that the safety of citizens remains the top priority. Community leaders and local security networks are also working closely with law enforcement to ensure early detection of any suspicious movements.

Residents have been advised to remain calm but alert as surveillance operations increase across the three local government areas. The alert comes amid rising concerns over bandit and armed group activities in North Central Nigeria, prompting several states to strengthen local security measures.

Internal security operations are reportedly already underway in the affected areas, though the Kwara State Police Command has not yet issued an official public statement on the intelligence report.
