Preparations have been finalized for the All Progressives Congress (APC) national convention scheduled to take place in Abuja on Saturday, with party leaders expressing strong confidence in a smooth and successful event.
The party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, alongside the chairman of the convention’s central coordinating committee, Aminu Bello Masari, assured members that all arrangements are in place despite minor challenges, which they described as manageable.
Ahead of the screening of aspirants for key national positions, Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, who heads the screening committee, pledged a transparent and fair process guided strictly by party rules and the law.
Over 7,000 delegates from across the country are expected to attend the convention at Eagle Square, highlighting the scale and significance of the gathering.
Party officials emphasized their readiness not only for the convention but also for upcoming political activities, including preparations for future elections. They noted that the event will serve as an opportunity to demonstrate unity, organizational strength, and commitment to the party’s goals.
Leaders of various sub-committees also expressed confidence in their ability to deliver a peaceful and well-coordinated convention, stressing that the party remains focused on strengthening its internal structure and positioning itself for future electoral success.
Several party stakeholders reiterated their belief in the current administration’s policies and reforms, expressing optimism that ongoing initiatives will yield positive results over time. They maintained that the convention would also serve as a platform to showcase achievements and engage members ahead of future elections.
The screening committee confirmed that multiple aspirants would be evaluated within a tight schedule, with structured arrangements put in place to ensure efficiency and fairness throughout the process.
