Ahead of next month’s governorship primaries, 31 governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC), under the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), are holding a crucial meeting in Lagos to discuss the state of the nation and party preparations.
The governors convened at Eko Hotel, Victoria Island, on Sunday. Earlier, they visited President Bola Tinubu at his Ikoyi residence to congratulate him on his successful state visit to the United Kingdom and the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.

By 9:40 pm, 21 of the 31 governors had arrived for the meeting. A key agenda is ensuring a smooth, rancour-free conduct of the APC’s governorship primaries.
The meeting is being presided over by the PGF chairman and Imo State Governor, Chief Hope Uzodimma, with Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu hosting.
Governors in attendance include Mai Mala Buni (Yobe), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo), Bassey Otu (Cross River), Agbo Kefas (Taraba), AbdulRaman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), Monday Okpebholo (Edo), Umo Eno (Akwa Ibom), Ahmadu Sule (Nasarawa), Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers), Usman Ododo (Kogi), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi), Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Abba Yusuf (Kano), Umaru Bago (Niger), Peter Mbah (Enugu), Namadi Umar (Jigsaw), Dikko Umaru (Katsina), and Douye Diri (Bayelsa).
The forum is expected to issue a communique outlining key decisions at the conclusion of the meeting.
