The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has approved a fresh redeployment of Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) across key departments and formations of the Nigeria Police Force, as part of efforts to strengthen operational efficiency nationwide.
The directive, issued through a “Most Immediate” wireless message from Force Headquarters in Abuja, detailed the reassignment of several senior officers to strategic roles across the country.

Under the new postings, AIG Ado Emmanuel has been assigned to the Department of Research and Planning, while AIG Joseph Eribo will head the Armament unit. AIG Miller G. Dantawaye has been deployed to oversee Operations, and AIG Henry Ifeanyi Uche to Training and Development.
AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh has been appointed to lead Zone 2 Command in Lagos, a key formation responsible for police operations in Lagos and Ogun states.
Other redeployments include AIG Olanrewaju Peter Ogunlowo to the Accounts and Budget Department, AIG Dahiru Mohammed to Zone 15 Command in Maiduguri, AIG Dankombo F. Morris to Zone 4 Command in Makurdi, and AIG Bello Shehu to Zone 14 Command in Katsina.

In addition, AIG Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba has been moved to Legal Services, while AIG Ahmed Musa will head Community Policing. AIG Simeon U. Akpanudom has been posted to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Lagos, and AIG Haruna Olufemi will oversee the Special Protection Unit at Force Headquarters.
The police high command has directed all affected formations to update their records immediately, underscoring the urgency of the redeployments.
