The Nigeria Police Force has carried out a wide-ranging redeployment of Commissioners of Police, following a directive from the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu.
The postings, conveyed through a “Most/Immediate” wireless message from Abuja, take effect immediately, with all formations directed to update their records without delay.
As part of the reshuffle, Akan Ezima has been appointed Director of the Nigeria Police National Cybercrime Centre in Abuja, while Abbas Sule will now head the Special Protection Unit at Force Headquarters. Ajo Geofrey Ordue has been redeployed to Interpol, and Mnwadiogbu Cletus has been named Deputy Commandant of the Police Academy.
Danjuma I. Yahaya has been assigned to oversee General Investigation at the FCID Annex in Kaduna, while Sheik M. Danko moves to the Force Intelligence Department Annex in Lagos.
Other key changes include Moses Ashu Ottah’s deployment to the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit in Abuja and Abdulrahim A. Shuaibu’s posting to the Eastern Port Authority. Sarah Ehindero takes up a role in Administration at FCID Abuja, while Edwin Ogbeghagha becomes Provost at Force Headquarters.
Preye R. Egbe has been posted to INEC Abuja, and Adebisi Bola Lateef to Master Printing in Lagos. Bolou O. Etete moves to Community Policing under Research and Planning, while Ojugbene E. Adebola is assigned to General Investigation at FCID Alagbon. Fidelis N. Ogarabe has been posted to Interpol Annex in Lagos.
Further appointments see Theodore C. Obasi as Deputy Commandant at the Police College, Eloho E. Okroziakro heading the Special Fraud Unit in Ikoyi, and Kayode Uthman Magaji deployed to the K9 unit in Dei-Dei. Markus Ishaku Basiran has been posted to Courses at the Police Academy.
In addition, Mohammed Babakura will handle Administration at DOPS, Silas Bamidele Aremu has been assigned to Safer Highway operations, and Magaji Ismaila to Community Safety and Crime Prevention. Rebecca Uchenna Okereke has been appointed Director of Music at Force Headquarters.
Police authorities say the redeployment is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen operations and improve efficiency across key departments and units nationwide.
