The All Progressives Congress (APC) has elected a new set of national executives at its National Convention held on Friday night at Eagle Square in Abuja.
Emerging at the top of the party’s leadership is Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, who was elected as the new National Chairman. He will work alongside two Deputy National Chairmen — Ali Bukar Dalori representing the North, and Dr Benjamin Obi Nwoye representing the South.
Former Senate spokesperson, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, was elected as the party’s National Secretary, with Prof. AbdulKarim Abubakar Kana serving as Deputy National Secretary.

Other key positions were also filled during the convention. Murtala Aliyu Kankia emerged as National Legal Adviser, Uguru Mathew Ofoke as National Treasurer, and Ambassador Haruna Ginsau as National Financial Secretary.
Muhammad Sulaiman Argungu was elected National Organising Secretary, while Donatus Enyinnah Nwankpa became National Welfare Secretary. Felix Morka retained his position as National Publicity Secretary, and Senator Abubakar Maikafi was elected National Auditor.
In addition, Dr Mary A. Idele emerged as National Women Leader, while Dayo Israel was elected National Youth Leader. Aare Durotolu Oyebode Bankole was chosen as the National Leader for Persons with Disabilities.

Several deputy national officers were also announced. Among them are Hammam Adamu Ali Kumo as Deputy National Financial Secretary, Barrister Emeka Okafor as Deputy National Organising Secretary, and Zainab Abubakar Ibrahim as Deputy National Women Leader.
Others include Hon. Meseko Durosinmi Josiah as Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Dr Christopher Michael Akpan as Deputy National Welfare Secretary, Mr Olugbenga Olayemi as Deputy National Auditor, Barrister Ibrahim Salawu as Deputy National Legal Adviser, Engr. Ben Akak as Deputy National Treasurer, and Jamaludeen Kabiru as Deputy National Youth Leader.
The convention also produced National Ex-officio members to represent the six geopolitical zones, further strengthening the party’s leadership structure ahead of future political activities.
