Popular Nigerian comedian Seyi Law has openly declared his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 2026 APC National Convention in Abuja.
The convention, which held at Eagle Square from March 27 to 28, brought together thousands of party delegates from across the country. The gathering focused on electing a new National Working Committee and strengthening the party’s direction ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on stage, Seyi Law expressed strong confidence in the president’s leadership, stating that he was willing to “stake everything” on Tinubu. He praised the administration’s handling of the economy, claiming Nigeria was in a fragile state when Tinubu assumed office, with foreign reserves reportedly around $1 billion, but had since grown significantly.
He also commended the removal of fuel subsidy, describing it as a bold decision that has helped reduce corruption. In addition, he pointed to improvements in the education sector, noting a reduction in the frequency of ASUU strikes.
His remarks drew loud applause from supporters at the event, reflecting approval from party loyalists present.
However, reactions outside the venue have been mixed. While some Nigerians agreed with his position and praised his loyalty, others criticised his comments, arguing that they do not reflect the current economic realities faced by many citizens.
