BANDITS STORM KWARA COMMUNITY, RESIDENTS FLEE AMID GUNFIRE, KIDNAP THREAT

Tension has gripped Oke Daaba in the Oro-Ago community of Ifelodun Local Government Area, Kwara State, following a suspected bandit attack on Sunday night.

According to local sources, armed men stormed the community late in the evening, prompting villagers to flee as gunshots rang out across different parts of the settlement. The exact number of people abducted during the attack is yet to be confirmed.

Residents are still accounting for family members and neighbours amid fear and confusion. Many described the incident as terrifying, highlighting growing concerns over insecurity in Kwara State and surrounding areas.

“As reported tonight, kidnappers stormed Oke Daaba, Oro-Ago. We are afraid and still waiting to know those taken,” a resident said.

Community members have appealed to government and security agencies to intervene urgently, increase patrols, and ensure the safety of lives and property. The attack adds to rising fears among rural communities in the Kwara South region facing threats from armed groups suspected to be bandits.
