NIGERIA 2-2 JORDAN: LATE EQUALIZER CANCELS SUPER EAGLES’ LEAD AS IWOBI SENT OFF

Nigeria played out a 2–2 draw with Jordan on Tuesday in an international friendly at the Mardan Sports Complex in Antalya, Turkey.

The match was full of twists, with both sides enjoying periods of dominance before settling for a share of the spoils.

Jordan struck first in the 17th minute, as Mousa Al-Tamari converted a well-taken free kick to give his side the lead. Nigeria responded swiftly, with Moses Simon equalising just eight minutes later.

The Super Eagles then turned the game around before halftime, as defender Emmanuel Fernandez scored his first international goal in the 41st minute to put Nigeria ahead 2–1.

In the second half, Nigeria controlled much of the possession but struggled to extend their lead, especially in the absence of injured striker Victor Osimhen.

Jordan capitalised on a defensive lapse in the 77th minute, with Mohammad Al Daoud finding the equaliser to bring the game level once again.

The match ended on a tense note for Nigeria, as Alex Iwobi was sent off in stoppage time following a clash on the pitch.

Despite the draw, the Super Eagles have now gone five matches unbeaten under head coach Eric Chelle, building on their recent 2–1 win over Iran in the ongoing four-nation tournament.
