FIRM SUPPORTS WOMEN IN TECH THROUGH STEM OUTREACH

Nigerian ICT company ipNX has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting gender inclusion in the technology sector through a range of initiatives aimed at empowering women and inspiring young girls to pursue careers in science and technology.

The programmes, organised to mark International Women’s Day 2026 under the theme “Give to Gain,” focused on encouraging diversity, mentorship, and access to opportunities within Nigeria’s growing digital space.

As part of its outreach, ipNX visited Victoria Island Senior Secondary School in Lagos, where it held an interactive session with female students. The session offered practical career guidance, exposure to opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), and motivational talks to help the students see a future for themselves in tech.

The school also benefits from ipNX’s corporate social responsibility initiative, which provides free broadband internet to support learning and improve access to digital tools.

Speaking at the event, Account Manager at ipNX Business, Mary Falade, stressed the importance of early exposure and mentorship in closing the gender gap in technology. She encouraged the students to stay committed to growth and self-belief.

“When you give yourself to learning, discipline, and growth, you gain opportunities, confidence, and a future without limits. Anything is possible if you believe in yourself,” she said.

Beyond the physical session, the company also hosted a virtual webinar focused on women’s leadership in technology. The event featured Dr Nadu Denloye, a respected tech leader and former Group Managing Director of Telnet Nigeria Limited, as the keynote speaker.

In her presentation, she shared insights from her career and spoke on the increasing role of women in shaping Africa’s digital economy. She urged participants to embrace resilience, leadership, and collaboration as tools for growth and impact.

Commenting on the initiative, Group Executive Director, Corporate Services at ipNX, Folashade Efiong-Bassey, said the company remains committed to creating opportunities that help women succeed in tech.

She noted that the organisation is focused on providing the support systems needed for women to build meaningful careers, while also promoting equal opportunities and celebrating female achievements in the industry.

According to ipNX, the initiatives reflect its broader goal of driving digital inclusion and building a more diverse and innovative tech ecosystem in Nigeria and across Africa.
