Troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation Enduring Peace, have recorded fresh gains in Plateau State, killing three suspected terrorists and arresting two individuals posing as security personnel.
This was confirmed in a statement by the task force’s Media Information Officer, Captain Chinonso Polycarp Oteh.
According to him, the arrests were made during a late-night operation on Thursday in Dutse Uku, Jos North Local Government Area, following reports of sporadic gunfire in the community.

The suspects, dressed in black tactical uniforms, were intercepted while allegedly setting houses on fire and carrying out attacks. They are now in military custody.
Two residents who sustained gunshot injuries during the incident were taken to a hospital and are said to be in stable condition.
The task force said the arrests help counter claims that security forces were involved in the unrest, noting that criminals have been disguising themselves in military-style uniforms to commit crimes and mislead the public.

In a separate operation in Karem, Wase Local Government Area, troops also disrupted a group of armed men moving on motorcycles. After a gun battle, the attackers fled, leaving behind three of their members who were killed.
The military said the operation followed the recent deployment of additional troops, including specialised counter-terrorism units, to Plateau State on the orders of the Chief of Army Staff.
According to the authorities, the reinforcement has strengthened security efforts and improved response in troubled areas.
The task force reaffirmed its commitment to restoring peace in the state and urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to security agencies.
