President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Northern States Governors’ Forum have expressed their condolences to former INEC chairman and current presidential adviser on livestock development, Professor Attahiru Jega, following the death of his wife, Hajiya Hadiza Jega.
Vice President Kashim Shettima, who attended the Janazah prayer at the National Mosque in Abuja on Sunday, delivered the President’s message of sympathy to the grieving family.

Hajiya Hadiza, who passed away earlier that day, was laid to rest in accordance with Islamic rites shortly after the funeral prayers.
In his message, Tinubu described her as a woman of grace, strength, and character, noting that she was a steady pillar of support to her husband throughout his years in public service. He also acknowledged her contributions to education and community development.
He said he shared in the family’s grief and prayed for God to grant her eternal rest while giving the family the strength to bear the loss.

The Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, also conveyed condolences on behalf of the 19 northern governors. He described her passing as a painful loss not only to the family but to everyone who knew her for her humility and devotion to family and values.
He urged the family to find comfort in the life she lived and the legacy she left behind, while praying for strength and patience for them during this difficult time.
Both the President and the governors prayed for Allah’s mercy upon her soul and for her to be granted Aljannatul Firdaus.
