Suspected herdsmen have reportedly killed four members of the same family in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, in an early morning attack that has left the community in shock.
Residents said the incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Imande Dem settlement along Gbajimba Road in Uvir Council Ward. The attackers reportedly stormed the area while people were asleep and targeted a household.

A woman, Mrs. Utsuwa Chicha, and her three sons were killed during the assault. A young boy from the family survived but sustained gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a hospital, where doctors performed emergency surgery to remove bullets from his body.
Community members revealed that the woman’s husband had been killed in a previous attack, leaving the family already vulnerable before this latest tragedy.

The bodies of the victims were later evacuated through a joint effort by security operatives and residents, while the injured child remains under medical care.
The incident adds to a growing pattern of violence in Guma, where repeated attacks by suspected armed herders have continued to heighten fear and uncertainty among residents.
As of the time of this report, authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the attack.
