Troops of the Nigerian Army have killed two suspected armed criminals during a coordinated ambush operation in the Doruwa Babuje area of Kaduna State, while recovering weapons and other items from the scene.
According to an operational update made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Abuja, the operation was launched on Tuesday after intelligence indicated the movement of armed men linked to attacks on nearby communities.

Security forces reportedly positioned themselves around the Marit general area, where they laid an ambush for the suspects.
“Troops sprang the ambush and neutralised two of the armed bandits, while others fled the scene,” the report stated.
Items recovered from the operation include a locally fabricated rifle, five rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, a cutlass, a jack knife, and a mobile phone.
The Army said follow-up operations are ongoing, with troops maintaining a presence in Marit and nearby Lajam villages to track down fleeing suspects and prevent further attacks.
Authorities described the operation as part of continued efforts to curb criminal activities and strengthen security across vulnerable communities in the state.
