Gunmen have killed two people in a late-night attack on Kuru community in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The attackers were said to have invaded the Dabwak area near Government Science School, Kuru, around 10 p.m. on Tuesday and opened fire on residents, triggering panic and forcing many people to flee for safety.

The incident was confirmed by the Publicity Secretary of the Berom Youth Moulders Association (BYM), Rwang Tengwong, who described the repeated attacks on Plateau communities as deeply alarming and “one too many.”
He expressed concern over the continued loss of lives and urged security agencies to take urgent and decisive action to protect residents and bring the perpetrators to justice.

A resident, Dangwang Elisha, said the attackers struck under the cover of darkness, leaving the community in fear and chaos. He called for stronger security presence and improved intelligence operations to prevent further attacks.

He stressed that residents can no longer live in constant fear and appealed for immediate intervention to restore safety in rural communities.
Efforts to get a response from the Plateau State Police Command were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
