The Kogi State Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has endorsed Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan as its sole candidate for the Kogi Central Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The decision was taken during a meeting held at the party’s secretariat in Lokoja on Thursday, where members ratified an earlier approval granted by the state chairman, Muhammed Gambo.
Beyond confirming her candidacy, the committee also reaffirmed Akpoti-Uduaghan’s leadership role within the party in the state. Members cited her consistent support and financial contributions to party activities as key factors behind their decision.

Speaking on behalf of the committee, Gambo commended the senator’s performance, describing her representation at the National Assembly as impactful and commendable.
“She has continued to make the party proud through purposeful representation,” he said.
He also highlighted her contributions to development in Kogi Central, pointing to various empowerment programmes and infrastructure projects. These include the construction of schools and markets, provision of housing, and skills acquisition initiatives for residents.
The party assured the senator of its full backing, declaring her the unanimous choice to represent the PDP in the 2027 senatorial race in Kogi Central.
