A video currently circulating online has captured an unusual moment involving former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, and his new political ally, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, during their formal entry into the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

The two former governors reportedly joined the NDC following Obi’s earlier departure from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Sunday. Their move is seen as part of early political positioning ahead of the 2027 presidential race.
They were officially welcomed at the party headquarters in Abuja by the National Leader of the NDC and former Bayelsa State Governor, Henry Seriake Dickson, alongside the party’s National Chairman, Moses Cleopas. Party leaders described the development as evidence of growing national confidence in the NDC.

Kwankwaso, while speaking after joining, said his decision was driven by a strong commitment to democratic principles, adding that the platform would support the push for better governance and deeper democratic practice in Nigeria.
During the membership presentation ceremony, both Obi and Kwankwaso were handed party materials including membership cards and caps. However, in the process of posing for photographs, Kwankwaso was seen taking the items in a way that appeared forceful, an action that quickly drew attention online and sparked mixed reactions from viewers.
Some observers online interpreted the moment as a possible sign of underlying political dynamics within the new alliance.
