The inaugural flight departed Abuja and landed smoothly at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, with passengers praising the airline’s punctuality, professionalism, and onboard service.

Speaking on the development, the Group President of Binani Air, Aminatu Danjuma Goje, described the launch of Lagos operations as an important step toward building a reliable and customer-focused indigenous airline.

She stated that the airline aims to strengthen business mobility, economic growth, and national connectivity through safe and efficient air transport services across Nigeria.

The airline’s Chairperson, Aishatu Dahiru Binani, also reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting the Federal Government’s efforts to improve transportation infrastructure and economic development.

Meanwhile, a separate aviation incident involving Delta Air Lines disrupted travel plans for passengers heading to Lagos from the United States.

Flight DL54, which departed from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport en route to Lagos, was forced to return to Atlanta after spending nearly eight hours in the air.

The flight, operated with an Airbus A330-200, reportedly turned back due to what the airline described only as an “operational issue.”

Flight tracking information showed the aircraft had already crossed more than 70 percent of the journey before returning safely to Atlanta, leading to the cancellation of the Lagos-bound service and leaving many passengers stranded awaiting alternative arrangements.

Representatives of the airline in Nigeria confirmed the incident but did not provide details on when affected passengers would be transported to their destinations.
