Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has dismissed reports claiming he defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC), reaffirming that he remains a member of the party.
He made the clarification on Tuesday after inspecting the Neuropsychiatric Hospital and the newly constructed General Hospital in Rumuigbo, Port Harcourt.

Fubara described the defection rumours as false and driven by social media speculation, urging the public to ignore such claims.
He emphasized that his political position has not changed and that he continues to support the party.

According to him, “I am a member of APC and nothing has changed. People should stop using social media interpretations to misrepresent me. I have not gone anywhere.”
The governor also restated his administration’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery across Rivers State, noting that healthcare and the welfare of residents remain a top priority.

He explained that the new General Hospital project was designed to improve access to medical services, especially mental health care, for residents of Rumuigbo and surrounding communities.

Fubara added that many residents previously had to travel long distances to receive treatment, with the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital being the closest facility.
His administration, he said, is expanding healthcare infrastructure to serve more communities efficiently and improve overall service delivery.
