Bandits Kill 10, Burn Homes in Katsina Market Attack
At least 10 people have been feared dead following a brutal attack by armed bandits on the grain market in Guga village, Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State, on Sunday.
Among the victims was reportedly a pregnant woman, according to local sources who described the incident as devastating and chaotic.
The attackers also set several houses on fire and rustled an unspecified number of livestock, including cows, goats, and sheep, during the raid.

Eyewitnesses said the gunmen stormed the community in broad daylight, shooting indiscriminately at traders and residents and operating for several hours without resistance.
Residents said the victims were buried on Monday morning in Guga village after a mass funeral held in nearby Gidan Sarkin Noma and Gidan Wawo communities within the local government area.
According to locals, many of those killed were farmers from surrounding villages who had come to the market to sell their produce before the attack.
As of the time of filing this report, authorities had yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
Guga village has suffered repeated attacks in recent years, forcing several residents to abandon their homes due to persistent insecurity in the area.
