JIGAWA APC LOCKS IN GOV. NAMADI FOR SECOND TERM AS DELEGATES DELIVER UNOPPOSED TICKET

Namadi Emerges APC Sole Governorship Candidate for Jigawa 2027 Election

Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has been officially declared the sole governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general elections in the state, following a consensus endorsement by party delegates.

The announcement was made on Thursday at the Dutse Stadium during the party’s primary exercise, where the electoral committee chairman, Mr. Isa Sadiq Achida, presented the certificate of return to the governor.

According to Achida, Namadi emerged unopposed after receiving unanimous backing from delegates across all wards and local government areas of the state.

“In the presence and consent of 287 political ward delegates and 27 local government delegates, and in line with Sections 86 and 87 of the Electoral Act as well as Article 20 of the APC Constitution, I hereby declare His Excellency Malam Umar Namadi as the duly elected APC governorship candidate for Jigawa State in the forthcoming 2027 general election,” he stated.

He added that the committee was satisfied that the process complied fully with the provisions of the law and the party’s internal guidelines.

In his acceptance speech, Governor Namadi expressed appreciation to APC members for their confidence in his leadership and endorsement for a second term.

He pledged to sustain ongoing developmental projects and deepen efforts aimed at improving governance and service delivery across the state.

“Our project for a greater Jigawa is on course, and we will continue to pursue it to its logical conclusion,” the governor said.

Namadi also called on party members to remain united and work collectively towards securing victory for the APC in all positions during the 2027 general elections, including the presidential, national, and state assembly contests.

He commended party leaders, the electoral committee, and supporters for their participation and commitment throughout the exercise.
