ADC Faction Led by Dumebi Kachikwu to Hold National Convention in Abuja
The faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) led by Dumebi Kachikwu has announced plans to hold its national convention in Abuja on Sunday as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The development was disclosed in a press invitation issued by the Acting National Working Committee Chairman of the faction, Kingsley Temitope Ogah.
According to Ogah, the convention is expected to bring together party leaders, delegates, state executives, youth and women representatives, as well as political stakeholders from across the country.
He explained that the gathering forms part of the party’s strategic efforts to reposition itself ahead of the 2027 polls.

“The convention is part of the party’s strategic preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections and is expected to bring together party leaders, delegates, state executives, youth and women representatives, and political stakeholders from across the federation,” the statement read.
Ogah added that the convention would deliberate on the future direction of the party, strengthen its internal democratic structures, and oversee the emergence of members of the National Working Committee.
He also noted that key decisions concerning the party’s participation in the 2027 electoral process would be discussed during the meeting.
According to the statement, the convention will serve as a platform for discussions on national development, political inclusion, grassroots mobilisation, and efforts aimed at building a stronger democratic alternative capable of addressing Nigeria’s current challenges.
The event is scheduled to take place at A-Class Garden in Wuse 2, Abuja, and is expected to begin at 3 pm.
