KWANKWASO ANNOUNCES GWARZO AS KANO NDC GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE, GAWUNA FOR SENATE

Kwankwaso also revealed that Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna has been selected as the party’s candidate for the Kano Central Senatorial seat.

The announcement was contained in a statement posted on Kwankwaso’s official X account on Friday, where he explained that the choices were made after internal consultations within the party.

He said the decisions were guided by principles of fairness, loyalty, competence, and equitable representation within the party structure.

According to him, the selections reflect the values of unity and progress within the Kwankwasiyya political movement as it prepares for the upcoming elections.

Kwankwaso expressed confidence in the party’s prospects, adding that he prayed for a smooth and successful affirmation process ahead of the polls.

Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, a close ally of Kwankwaso, previously served as Deputy Governor of Kano State under Governor Abba Yusuf and has also held several key political positions in the state.

He later exited office following political realignments involving defections within the state’s leadership structure.

Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, on the other hand, served as Deputy Governor under former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and was the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in the 2023 Kano election.

The development signals early political positioning in Kano State as parties begin to structure their strategies ahead of the 2027 elections.
