BREAKING: Gunmen Abduct Former Power Minister Adelabu’s Sister, Twin Sons In Ibadan
By Headlinenews.news
Fresh concerns over the worsening security situation in Oyo State have emerged following the abduction of the younger sister of former Minister of Power and leading APC governorship aspirant, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, alongside her twin sons in Ibadan.

The victims, identified as Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, 43, and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, were reportedly kidnapped by armed men while she was on her way to drop the children at school on Wednesday morning. Reports indicate that the attackers intercepted her vehicle, smashed the car window, forcefully seized the victims and sped away in an ash-coloured Toyota Camry towards the expressway.
The incident occurred in the Challenge area of Ibadan, sending shockwaves across the Oyo State capital and raising renewed concerns about the audacity of criminal elements operating in broad daylight. Security agencies have since launched investigations and rescue efforts.

A statement issued by Adelabu’s media aide, Femi Awogboro, confirmed the abduction and appealed for calm while security operatives work towards securing the safe release of the victims. The family urged members of the public to support ongoing efforts and avoid spreading unverified information that could jeopardise rescue operations.

The kidnapping comes amid growing national concerns over insecurity, banditry and abductions across several parts of Nigeria. Analysts note that the increasing frequency of high-profile kidnappings underscores the urgent need for stronger intelligence gathering, improved surveillance capabilities and more proactive security measures to protect citizens.

As of press time, no official statement had been issued regarding contact from the kidnappers or any ransom demand. Security agencies are continuing efforts to track down the perpetrators and secure the safe return of the victims.
