Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has approved plans to procure drones and other surveillance equipment as part of efforts to address rising insecurity in the state.
According to a statement by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor gave the directive during a security review meeting aimed at strengthening the state’s security architecture.

Adeleke said the acquisition of drones would enhance monitoring capabilities and support both formal and informal security networks in tackling crime and banditry across Osun State.

He stressed that the administration is focused on improving current security responses rather than dwelling on past shortcomings, adding that modern technology will play a key role in safeguarding lives and property.

The governor also assured residents of his government’s commitment to their safety, urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to security agencies.
The planned deployment of drones is expected to boost surveillance operations and improve real-time response to security threats across the state.
