Panic erupted on Wednesday at a political rally in Ijebu-Jesa, Osun State, after a stage collapsed during an Accord Party event, causing several attendees, including Governor Ademola Adeleke, to fall.

The incident happened while party leaders, supporters, and officials were gathered at the venue for a political gathering linked to the governor’s re-election mobilisation activities.

Governor Adeleke had attended the inauguration of his canvassers in Ijebu-Jesa, Ori-Ade Local Government Area, where he was received by campaign spokesperson Barr. Pelumi Olajengbesi and other party members.
During the programme, the governor reportedly stood up to acknowledge and cheer supporters, an action that was followed by others on the stage. The movement caused the structure to become unstable before it eventually gave way.

The collapse brought the event to an abrupt halt as the governor, alongside his sister, the Chief of Staff, campaign officials, and other dignitaries present on the stage, fell amid the chaos.
