Tunji Disu, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), has appointed Anietie Iniedu as the new Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Nigeria Police Force.
Iniedu succeeds Anthony Placid, who was appointed in March 2026 shortly after Disu assumed office as IGP.

Placid announced Iniedu’s appointment in a statement issued on Friday.
Before his new appointment, Iniedu served as the head of the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

He also served as the PRO of the Police College of Information Technology in Kobape, Ogun State.
Iniedu has held several key positions in the force, including Operations Officer at the Maisandari Division of the Yobe State Command, Area Crime Officer at the Umuahia Area Command in Abia State, Staff Officer at the IGP Secretariat, Force Headquarters, Second-in-Command of the 50 Police Mobile Force Squadron in Kubwa, and Officer-in-Charge of the Force Headquarters Situation Room.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Pure Chemistry from the University of Uyo and hails from Etinan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
