Ojulari made the call while delivering a keynote address at the Africa Technology Conference (ATC 2026) held in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, where he was represented by the Managing Director of NNPC Engineering & Technical Company Limited, Salahuddeen Tahir.

Speaking on the theme “Harnessing Innovation and Technology for a Resilient and Sustainable African Energy Sector,” he emphasized that Africa’s energy future depends on collaboration, innovation, and integration across the continent.

He noted that Africa’s ability to achieve energy abundance is closely tied to how well countries and energy stakeholders work together, stressing that technology will play a central role in driving resilience within the sector.

Ojulari highlighted that NNPC Limited has already deployed advanced technologies across its operations and urged greater cooperation between African governments, national oil companies, private investors, and technology providers.

He said such collaboration is essential to accelerate energy integration and support a balanced and realistic energy transition across Africa.

The conference, organised by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), brought together policymakers, industry operators, engineers, investors, and researchers from across the continent to discuss innovations shaping the future of Africa’s oil and gas sector.

Participants focused on strengthening partnerships and exploring technological solutions to address energy challenges and improve industry performance across African markets.
