BRAZIL APPROVES AIR PEACE OPERATIONS, AS AIRLINE PREPARES FOR TORONTO, NEW YORK, GUANGZHOU

Air Peace, West Africa’s largest airline, has received approval from Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) to operate scheduled international passenger, cargo and mail services between Nigeria and Brazil.

The approval, issued under ANAC Ordinance No. 19.449/2026, marks a significant step toward establishing direct air connectivity between both countries and strengthens the airline’s ongoing global expansion strategy.

The airline said the development aligns with its ambition to grow into a major international carrier, as it continues efforts to secure additional landing rights in Canada and the United States, with planned routes to Toronto and New York. It is also finalising arrangements to resume services to destinations including Jeddah in Saudi Arabia and Guangzhou in China.

Air Peace has also announced plans to launch three weekly flights to Manchester in the United Kingdom as part of its wider expansion into Europe, North America, Africa, the Middle East, and South America.

Recently, the airline introduced new West African routes, including services to Libreville, Conakry, Bamako and Douala, scheduled to commence operations from August 1.

The new Brazil route is expected to significantly reduce travel time between Nigeria and South America from nearly two days of multiple stopovers to approximately seven hours on a direct flight.

Industry stakeholders say the development could boost tourism, trade, cargo movement, and cultural exchange between Nigeria and Brazil, two countries with long-standing historical and economic ties.

A direct air link between both nations has often been described as a missing connection in bilateral relations, and the new approval is expected to open fresh opportunities for business and investment.

With the addition of Brazil to its growing list of international destinations, Air Peace says it is moving closer to its goal of becoming Africa’s leading airline and a globally competitive aviation brand.
