The Lagos State Government has secured the conviction of 13 individuals for offences related to the indiscriminate dumping of refuse in violation of environmental sanitation laws.

The offenders were arraigned before a Magistrate’s Court sitting in Bolade, Oshodi, where they pleaded guilty to the charges brought against them. Following their guilty pleas, the court sentenced each of them to three months’ imprisonment.
According to the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, the convictions reflect the government’s commitment to enforcing environmental regulations and maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment for residents.
The government reiterated its warning against illegal waste disposal, stressing that violators of environmental sanitation laws will continue to face prosecution and appropriate penalties.
