NCDMB DRIVES HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT WITH NEW OFFSHORE SERVICES TRAINING PROGRAMME

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, FNSE, alongside members of the Board’s management team, on Tuesday received the newly appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG), Engr. Dele Falade, and members of the company’s leadership team at the Board’s liaison office in Lagos.

The visit served as an opportunity to formally introduce Falade, who assumed office in April 2026, while reaffirming the longstanding strategic partnership between NCDMB and NLNG.

Discussions centred on strengthening collaboration, advancing Nigerian content development, and supporting key projects aimed at driving growth across Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.

A major highlight of the meeting was an update on the NLNG Train 7 Project, which has now reached approximately 90 per cent completion. As construction activities approach completion, focus is gradually shifting to pre-commissioning and system completion ahead of the introduction of hydrocarbons next year.

The project has surpassed its initial employment projections, engaging about 16,000 direct workers at peak construction and creating thousands of indirect jobs. The development has contributed significantly to employment generation, youth empowerment, and broader economic growth.

Both parties also discussed the need to accelerate the Shipyard Development Project to strengthen Nigeria’s dry-docking capacity and expand in-country maintenance capabilities within the maritime and energy sectors.

NCDMB commended NLNG for its sustained commitment to Nigerian content development, stakeholder capacity building, and impactful corporate social responsibility initiatives.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both organisations reaffirmed their commitment to deepening collaboration in line with the Board’s 10-Year Strategic Roadmap and advancing sustainable growth across Nigeria’s energy industry.
