Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has criticized former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, accusing him of reacting negatively whenever the country records progress.
Bwala’s comments followed reports in which Obi was quoted as saying he would not remove the fuel subsidy if elected president.
In a post shared on X, the presidential aide questioned why Obi would criticize policies and developments in a country he once sought to govern.
According to Bwala, Obi has taken inconsistent positions on major national issues. He argued that before the 2023 presidential election, Obi supported the removal of fuel subsidy but has now expressed a different view. He also claimed that Obi had previously advocated for the creation of state police and the unification of the foreign exchange market but has since changed his stance.
Bwala maintained that these shifts raise questions about Obi’s policy direction and suggested that the former Anambra State governor lacks a clear roadmap for addressing Nigeria’s challenges.
