Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, the embattled Director-General of the controversial Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), previously served as the Senior Special Assistant to Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2023 before his appointment was later terminated.

Following his appointment, Adeyemi met with staff of the state’s SDGs office and the newly assigned State Focal Person, Oyesiku Adelu, where he pledged to reposition and revive the agency’s activities in Osun State.
During the meeting, he called for the cooperation and support of members of staff, stating that teamwork would be essential to achieving the administration’s development objectives. He also outlined several initiatives aimed at revitalising SDG programmes in the state and encouraged staff members to contribute ideas that would improve the agency’s performance.

In response, State Focal Person Oyesiku Adelu assured Adeyemi of the agency’s commitment to working together to advance the Sustainable Development Goals in Osun State. He also urged employees to avoid actions that could hinder the agency’s progress. The meeting concluded with prayers for the success of the new leadership and the agency’s activities.

However, Adeyemi was later removed from his position by Governor Ademola Adeleke over allegations of forgery and misrepresentation involving the state government.
In 2024, Bamikole Omisore was appointed to oversee the Sustainable Development Goals office in Osun State.

Adeyemi has recently returned to public attention over his reported involvement with the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council, an organisation the Presidency has stated is not an officially recognised government agency.
