According to the police, every vehicle intercepted during the exercise was found to have breached the enforcement directive. The affected owners are currently undergoing the required administrative procedures and are being prosecuted in accordance with existing laws.

The command explained that the exercise is aimed at improving public safety by making vehicle identification easier and preventing criminals from using concealed or unregistered number plates to avoid detection.

Police authorities noted that proper vehicle identification plays a vital role in intelligence gathering and crime prevention, adding that the operation is part of broader efforts to strengthen security across Cross River State.

In a statement issued on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Eitokpah Sunday, thanked residents for their continued support and assured them that the command remains committed to maintaining law and order through intelligence-driven and community-oriented policing.

He also urged motorists to comply with all vehicle registration and traffic regulations to avoid arrest and prosecution while encouraging residents to promptly report suspicious individuals, criminal activities, and emergencies through the command’s designated emergency channels.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Command intensified its ongoing Operation Ko s’aye with an early morning raid on criminal hideouts around Boolar, Oko Filling Bus Stop, Igando, and other identified black spots within the Area M, Idimu axis.

The operation led to the arrest of 150 suspects, while officers recovered 100 unregistered motorcycles, 54 mobile phones, several firearms, military camouflage uniforms, suspected stolen generators, charms, substances believed to be Indian hemp, and other illicit drugs.

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, praised the officers involved in the operation and reiterated the command’s commitment to sustaining Operation Ko s’aye across the state to eliminate criminal hideouts and improve public safety.

He also appealed to residents to continue providing useful information that would assist security agencies in identifying criminal hideouts, arresting offenders, and enhancing security throughout Lagos State.
