At least 11 people have reportedly lost their lives following a suspected bandit attack on several communities in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

The attack reportedly took place on Thursday night in the communities of Turtsawa, Mazau, and Majema, where heavily armed assailants believed to be loyal to notorious bandit leader Bello Turji invaded the villages and opened attacks on residents.
Several other victims were also said to have sustained serious injuries and are receiving medical treatment at undisclosed health facilities.

According to security reports, the attackers are suspected members of a bandit group linked to Bello Turji, who has been associated with a series of violent attacks in parts of northwestern Nigeria.
Following the incident, condolences have continued to pour in for the families of those killed, while renewed calls have been made for stronger security measures to tackle the persistent violence affecting communities in the area.
