Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa, has pledged to step down from his position if the Federal Government is unable to restore security across Nigeria by November 2026.
Speaking in Hausa during a public engagement, Musa declared that he would resign should the country fail to achieve improved security within the stated timeframe.
His remarks come as Nigeria continues to battle challenges such as banditry, kidnapping, and insurgency in different parts of the country.
Despite the security concerns, the Defence Minister expressed confidence that ongoing military operations and newly introduced strategies would produce meaningful improvements before the November 2026 deadline.
He also appealed to Nigerians to continue supporting security agencies, emphasizing that ensuring peace and safety remains a key priority of the current administration.
