The management of Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, in Kogi State, has expelled two students over alleged involvement in same-sex conduct, while four others have been rusticated for their alleged roles in a campus fight.
The disciplinary actions were approved during the 31st meeting of the university’s Senate, held at the Faculty of Law Lecture Theatre, following recommendations submitted by the Students’ Disciplinary Committee.
According to a statement issued by the university’s Department of Public Relations, the sanctions were imposed in line with the provisions of the amended 2025 edition of the Students’ Handbook.
The institution identified the affected students as Onumoko Hamza, Abdulazeez Lukman Eneji, Favor Akowe, Simbiat Babamuharuna, Zainab Salami Omayoza, and Sukura Bukola.
The university reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining discipline, order, and a peaceful academic environment that supports effective teaching and learning.
It also warned that it would continue to enforce its rules and regulations, stressing that any student found guilty of misconduct would face appropriate disciplinary measures.
The management further advised all students to acquaint themselves with the provisions of the Students’ Handbook and ensure their conduct complies with the institution’s regulations.
