President Bola Tinubu has received praise following the unveiling of a $3.05 billion intervention package designed to tackle poverty and strengthen human capital development across Nigeria.
The commendation came from the Tinubu/Dikko Again 2027 Women and Youth Center during a stakeholders’ meeting held on Sunday in Katsina State.
Speaking for the group, its Director General, Hon. Salisu Majigiri, described the newly launched initiatives as a significant step toward ensuring that the benefits of ongoing economic reforms reach communities at the grassroots level.
According to Majigiri, the package includes the Nigeria Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES), the Solutions for Internally Displaced Persons and Host Communities (SOLID) programme, and the Human Capital Opportunities for Prosperity and Equity (HOPE) initiative.
The lawmaker, who represents the Mashi/Dutsi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, also applauded the President’s approval for the establishment of four new Nigerian Army divisions and the recruitment of 28,000 personnel to strengthen national security.
He noted that three of the newly approved divisions will be located in Northern Nigeria, specifically in Makurdi, Benue State; Ilorin, Kwara State; and Jalingo, Taraba State. He described the planned recruitment as one of the largest military expansion efforts in recent years.
Majigiri stated that the administration’s policies reflect a strong commitment to improving security and the welfare of Nigerians, particularly in the northern region.
The group also praised Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda for introducing an Executive Order aimed at intensifying efforts against insecurity. According to him, the directive is already producing positive results, especially by creating a safer environment for farmers during the current planting season.
He further commended the governor for strengthening the education sector through the recruitment of 2,158 additional teachers, bringing the total number employed under the administration to 9,481.
Majigiri added that the state’s achievements in education have earned national recognition while also highlighting ongoing investments in infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture, and security.
Reaffirming the group’s political commitment, he declared its readiness to mobilise widespread support for President Tinubu, Governor Radda, and all All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He explained that the organisation has representatives across 6,652 polling units, 361 wards, and all 34 local government areas in Katsina State, positioning it to drive grassroots mobilisation in support of the APC.
Majigiri also noted that the centre was founded by former Katsina State Governor Dr. Ibrahim Shema to serve as a women and youth support platform dedicated to securing electoral victories for President Tinubu, Governor Radda, and other APC candidates in the 2027 polls.
He urged members and supporters of the group to remain committed to ensuring the success of all APC candidates during the elections.
