The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled the members of its National Campaign Council and several sub-committees ahead of the Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026.
The announcement was made in a statement issued on Sunday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, who disclosed that the National Campaign Council will be officially inaugurated on Tuesday, July 28, at the Transcorp Hilton Event Centre in Abuja.
According to the APC, the council will be chaired by the Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Senator Hope Uzodimma.
The party also named Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas as co-chairmen of the campaign council.
In addition, Ibrahim Kabir Masari, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political and Other Matters, will serve as Deputy Chairman, while Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin has been appointed Secretary of the council.
The APC stated that the campaign council includes governors, members of the National Working Committee (NWC), principal officers of the National Assembly, ministers, federal and state lawmakers, as well as other key party stakeholders from across the country.
To strengthen preparations for the election, the party also constituted several specialised sub-committees that will coordinate different aspects of the campaign.
These committees will be responsible for election planning and management, finance and resource mobilisation, grassroots mobilisation, logistics, campaign coordination, monitoring and compliance, protocol, media and publicity, security, youth mobilisation, mobilisation of persons with disabilities, women’s mobilisation and secretariat operations.
The APC said the inauguration of both the National Campaign Council and the various sub-committees will take place at 12 noon on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, in Abuja as part of its preparations for the August 15 governorship election in Osun State.
