Olubadan, Oyo Monarchs Thank Tinubu for Federal Road Projects
The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, was accompanied to the Presidential Villa by several traditional rulers from Oyo State during a courtesy visit to President Bola Tinubu.
The delegation included the Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, Oba Francis Alao; the Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Sefiu Oyebola; the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola; the Osi Olubadan, Oba Abiodun Kola-Daisi; the Alajawa of Ajawa, Oba Adeyeye Oyetunji; the Onigbeti of Igbeti, Oba Abioye Basiru Olalekan; and the Aare Ago of Ogbomoso, High Chief S. Otolorin, who represented the Soun of Ogbomoso.
Speaking after the meeting, Oba Ladoja, who also serves as Chairman of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, said the visit was to express appreciation to President Tinubu for ongoing efforts to rehabilitate and reconstruct major federal roads linking Oyo State with neighbouring states.
He specifically commended the administration for work on the Ibadan-Ijebu Ode Road, the dualisation of the Ogbomoso-Ilorin Road, and the Badagry-Sokoto Highway passing through the Ibarapa and Oke-Ogun areas of Oyo State.
According to the monarch, the projects will improve transportation, boost economic activities and open up many communities that have long suffered from poor road access.
“The visit was also to appreciate the President’s efforts in addressing the poor condition of federal roads connecting Ibadan and other parts of Oyo State with neighbouring states,” Oba Ladoja said. “These roads will open up many towns and villages and improve the lives of our people.”
