Chief Lekan Alabi, the Abese Olubadan of Ibadanland, has passed away at the age of 76.
Alabi, a respected journalist and former press secretary to several past Oyo State governors, died on Saturday morning in Lagos.
His death was announced in a statement by Adeola Oloko, the media aide to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The statement described Alabi as a veteran journalist and a multiple-time press secretary to former Oyo State governors.
It read, “The veteran journalist and multiple press secretary to former Oyo State governors, Lekan Alabi, is dead.
“The Abese Olubadan passed away this morning in Lagos at the age of 76.”
Alabi was widely recognised for his contributions to journalism and public service, having played significant roles in media and government communication over the years.
