Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has continued his post-election engagements in Abuja, meeting with Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, days after securing a second term in office.
Adeleke visited Wike on Thursday as part of a series of meetings with prominent political figures following his victory in the August 15 Osun State governorship election.
A photograph from the meeting showed Adeleke and Wike together, with both politicians holding Adeleke’s Certificate of Return. The image was shared on X by Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, who described the visit as a meeting between the Osun governor and the FCT minister.
The meeting came shortly after Adeleke paid a visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where he presented his Certificate of Return to the President.
Adeleke secured re-election after defeating the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, in the governorship poll.
According to the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, Adeleke polled 511,067 votes, while Oyebamiji recorded 444,815 votes.
The incumbent governor also secured victories in 19 of Osun State’s 30 local government areas.
Following his re-election, Adeleke has begun holding consultations and courtesy meetings with political leaders, including figures outside his immediate political circle.
His meetings with Tinubu and Wike have attracted attention given the broader political realignments already emerging ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Abuja engagements are expected to form part of Adeleke’s efforts to strengthen relationships with influential political figures at both the federal and state levels as he begins his second term.
