ATIKU’S LOBBYIST CLAIMS HE BLOCKED TINUBU–TRUMP MEETING — BUT WHERE IS THE WHITE HOUSE CONFIRMATION?
IKEMEFUNA OKEKE-VON BATTEN SAYS HE LOBBIED U.S. OFFICIALS; ATIKU 2027 TURNS HIS ADVOCACY INTO A “WHITE HOUSE WARNING”

Atiku 2027 has released another explosive headline: the United States White House allegedly uncovered a “secret plot” by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to secure a meeting and photograph with President Donald Trump at UNGA—and “completely blocked the move.”

If true, that would be major international news.
But where is the White House statement?
Where is Trump’s announcement?
Where is confirmation from the U.S. State Department or U.S. Mission?
Most damagingly, the statement quoted by Atiku 2027 itself does not establish what its headline claims.
READ OKEKE-VON BATTEN’S OWN WORDS
The source is Nigerian-born Ikemefuna Okeke-Von Batten, professionally known as Karl Von Batten, whose Washington firm represents Atiku Abubakar’s interests.
He reportedly states:
“Yesterday, we began engaging with senior leadership at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations in New York and brought to their attention…”

Those words are decisive.
“We began engaging.”
“We brought to their attention.”
That describes lobbying.
It does not describe a White House decision.
There is an enormous difference between asking American officials to stop something and proving that American officials stopped it.
A lawyer may petition the Inspector-General of Police demanding someone’s arrest. That does not entitle a newspaper to announce:
“POLICE ORDER ARREST!”
The request and the decision are two different events.
A LOBBYIST IS NOT THE WHITE HOUSE
Okeke-Von Batten explains the distinction himself. He says advocates provide U.S. decision-makers with “briefings and arguments.”

Precisely.
An advocate supplies arguments. Government makes decisions.
A lawyer makes submissions; the judge gives the ruling.
A lobbyist requests action; government decides whether to act.
So where is the evidence that President Trump’s administration accepted Okeke-Von Batten’s argument and blocked Tinubu?
None is contained in the statement reproduced by Atiku 2027.
A restaurant beside the White House does not become the White House kitchen.
Likewise, a Washington lobbyist speaking to American officials does not become President Trump’s spokesman.
WHERE IS THE “SECRET PLOT”?
The headline says Washington “uncovered” a Nigerian “secret plot.”
But what secret plot?
The statement describes Nigeria’s representative meeting America’s representative at the United Nations.
Diplomats meeting diplomats during UNGA is not evidence of conspiracy.
Presidents meet. Ambassadors meet. Photographs are taken. That is diplomacy.
If evidence exists that Aso Rock secretly planned to falsely portray an ordinary photograph as Trump’s endorsement of Tinubu’s 2027 campaign, produce it.
Until then:
A proposed diplomatic meeting does not become a “secret plot” merely because Atiku’s lobbyist opposes it.
PHYSICIAN, HEAL THYSELF
If Nigerian-born Ikemefuna Okeke-Von Batten’s Washington influence is powerful enough to supposedly block Tinubu from Trump, why has he not used those celebrated contacts to resolve his client Atiku Abubakar’s longstanding U.S. entry controversy?
Atiku went years without visiting America before his 2019 trip, reportedly facilitated by a temporary waiver.
Before boasting that you can close Washington’s door against Tinubu, show Nigerians that you can permanently open it for your own client.
THE DRUG ALLEGATIONS DO NOT ANSWER THIS QUESTION
Okeke-Von Batten again invokes historical U.S. drug-investigation records concerning Tinubu.
Those records deserve lawful scrutiny.
But they do not answer today’s central question:
Did the White House issue the warning claimed by Atiku 2027?
A historical investigation does not prove Trump rejected a meeting.
A FOIA lawsuit does not prove Washington blocked a photograph.
Lobbying U.S. officials does not prove those officials accepted the lobbyist’s recommendation.
Every allegation must carry its own evidence.
WHAT IF TRUMP DOESN’T MEET TINUBU?
Even if Trump ultimately does not meet Tinubu, that alone would not prove Okeke-Von Batten stopped the meeting.
Presidential schedules change constantly. Numerous world leaders seek bilateral engagements during major international gatherings.
To claim victory requires evidence that a meeting was planned and was specifically rejected because of his intervention.
Otherwise, it is like firing an arrow at a wall, drawing the target around wherever it lands and announcing a bull’s-eye.
ACCESS IS NOT AUTHORITY
Okeke-Von Batten’s Washington firm represents Atiku’s interests under a lobbying arrangement reported at approximately $1.2 million annually.
There is nothing inherently improper about employing lobbyists.
But Nigerians should know whose interests an advocate represents when he urges American officials not to meet his client’s principal political opponent.
His relationship with American officials may demonstrate access.
Access is not authority.
And proximity to Washington does not confer the power to speak for Washington.
NATIONAL PATRIOTS POSITION
The National Patriots challenges Atiku 2027 to produce the alleged White House warning. Who issued it? Where is the statement? Where is the evidence that Washington uncovered a “secret plot” or “completely blocked” a Tinubu-Trump meeting? Okeke-Von Batten says his side “began engaging” U.S. officials. That is lobbying—not a White House ruling. Nigerians deserve facts, not an advocate’s request repackaged as an American government decision.
THE VERDICT
Strip away the capital letters and exclamation marks.
What remains?
Atiku’s Washington lobbyist says his team approached American officials, briefed them about Tinubu and argued against a possible Trump meeting.
That proves the lobbyist is lobbying.
It does not prove the White House has acted.
There is a world of difference between:
“Please don’t meet Tinubu.”
and Donald Trump saying:
“I will not meet Tinubu.”
If the White House issued a warning, produce it.
If Trump blocked the meeting, produce the official confirmation.
If Washington uncovered a “secret plot,” produce the finding.
Until then, Atiku 2027 appears to have taken its lobbyist’s microphone and labelled it:
“THE WHITE HOUSE.”
That is not evidence that Washington has spoken.
It is evidence that Atiku’s lobbyist is working very hard to make Washington listen.
