President Bola Tinubu has reportedly postponed his return to Nigeria after a last-minute adjustment to his travel plans.
The President had been expected to return to the country on Sunday, September 27, following an extended working vacation in Europe.
According to reports, Tinubu is now expected to return on Tuesday instead. His revised itinerary is expected to see him arrive in Lagos, where he may spend about a week before travelling to Abuja.
Tinubu departed Nigeria on August 30 for London as part of his working vacation and later travelled to Paris, France.
The Presidency had announced on September 21 that the President had extended his stay abroad by a few days and would return to Nigeria at the weekend. It also said he had remained in contact with officials at home and continued to oversee government affairs while away.
During his absence, Vice President Kashim Shettima represented him at some official engagements before travelling to New York for the 81st United Nations General Assembly. The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, has also represented the President at some events.
The latest change to Tinubu’s return schedule comes after his expected Sunday arrival was reportedly revised, with Tuesday now indicated as the new return date.
