2027 ELECTION: UBA SANI SETS THREE-MILLION-VOTE TARGET FOR TINUBU IN KADUNA

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has set an ambitious electoral target of three million votes for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election, as the All Progressives Congress (APC) intensifies efforts to strengthen its grassroots mobilisation across the state.

The target was disclosed during the presentation of Toyota Highlander vehicles to APC local government chairmen in Kaduna South Senatorial District, also known as Zone 3. The vehicles are intended to support the party’s mobilisation activities across local government areas and wards.

Sadiq Mamman Lagos, who represented Governor Sani at the handover ceremony, said the vehicles would improve the ability of party officials to reach communities and coordinate campaign activities ahead of the elections.

He explained that Kaduna’s position among states with large numbers of registered voters informed the party’s expectation of securing three million votes for Tinubu.

According to him, the mobilisation effort is part of the APC’s preparations to secure substantial electoral support for the President in 2027.

APC STEPS UP GRASSROOTS MOBILISATION

The vehicle distribution highlights the importance the ruling party is placing on grassroots organisation as preparations for the next general election gather momentum.

Mamman Lagos said Kaduna’s political significance and the need for cooperation across its three senatorial districts were important considerations in the party’s mobilisation strategy.

Zone 3, which corresponds to Kaduna South Senatorial District, comprises eight local government areas: Jaba, Jema’a, Kachia, Kagarko, Kaura, Kauru, Sanga and Zangon Kataf.

The Kaduna State APC chairman, Atiku Isaac Sankey, was among the party officials present at the vehicle handover.

The party hopes that improved mobility for its local government leaders will help strengthen its presence in communities and support efforts to reach voters before the 2027 polls.

CALL FOR CONTINUITY IN PRESIDENTIAL LEADERSHIP

Beyond the mobilisation drive, Mamman Lagos appealed to voters in Northern Nigeria to support Tinubu’s bid for a second term.

He argued that the North had benefited from the South’s support during the presidency of Muhammadu Buhari, who served from 2015 to 2023, and maintained that the South should be allowed to complete its own eight-year presidential tenure.

He urged northern voters to exercise patience and consider the principle of rotational leadership when making decisions about the 2027 election.

Mamman Lagos also expressed the view that Nigeria should subsequently look towards younger, knowledgeable and technically competent leaders capable of addressing the country’s challenges.

KADUNA’S ROLE IN THE 2027 ELECTION

The three-million-vote target places Kaduna among the states the APC hopes will play a significant role in determining the outcome of the presidential election.

However, the figure remains a political target rather than a confirmed electoral outcome. Its achievement will depend on voter participation, public sentiment, party organisation and the broader political situation as the election approaches.

With preparations continuing, the APC faces the task of translating its mobilisation plans into actual votes when Nigerians head to the polls in 2027.
