A remarkable story about two Nigerian identical twin brothers who reportedly married the same woman has resurfaced online, attracting attention because of the unusual circumstances surrounding their relationship.

The woman, Patricia Adewuyi, reportedly married the twin brothers, Kehinde and Taiwo Ogundipe, following an encounter in Lagos in December 1976.
According to published accounts, Patricia was 24 when she met the brothers at a palm-wine bar. She reportedly fell in love with Kehinde and accepted his marriage proposal, believing that she would become his wife alone.
However, she later discovered that Kehinde had an identical twin brother, Taiwo, who was also expected to be part of the marriage.
The arrangement reportedly came as a surprise to Patricia, who had not initially understood that the proposal involved marrying both brothers.

For Kehinde and Taiwo, their decision was said to stem from the unusually close relationship they shared as identical twins. They reportedly believed that their inseparable bond meant they could share a wife, just as they were accustomed to sharing other aspects of their lives.
The brothers were said to have reasoned that if a man could marry more than one woman, two brothers who considered themselves inseparable could also share one woman.
In an attempt to find an alternative arrangement, Patricia reportedly introduced her sister, Pauline, to Taiwo. She hoped this would allow each brother to have a separate partner.
However, the twins allegedly rejected the suggestion and continued with their unusual marital arrangement.

The relationship attracted further attention in February 1978, when Patricia reportedly gave birth to a son named Noah.
Their story eventually became a subject of public interest, with the Nigerian edition of Drum magazine featuring the brothers and their family arrangement under the headline, “Twins Who Share One Wife”.
What reportedly began as a private relationship in Lagos eventually became a widely discussed human-interest story, drawing attention to the extraordinary bond between the brothers and the unconventional marriage they pursued.
