KATSINA GOVERNOR RADDA SEEKS FORGIVENESS, URGES APC UNITY AHEAD OF 2027 ELECTIONS

Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda has appealed to anyone offended by decisions taken under his administration to forgive him, while calling for unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections. He made the appeal on Saturday in Katsina during the inauguration of the party’s campaign council for the re-election campaigns of President Bola Tinubu and himself.

Radda said he had no personal grievances against any APC member and remained open to welcoming new people into the party. He urged party leaders and supporters to put their differences aside, strengthen cooperation and work together towards the forthcoming elections. According to the governor, unity within the party would be important to its campaign efforts at all levels.

The governor also warned APC members against assuming that the party’s popularity would automatically guarantee electoral victory. He urged them to engage voters directly and intensify grassroots campaigns across polling units, wards and local government areas. Radda said securing elective positions in 2027 would require active mobilisation rather than relying on the party’s existing support base.

He described every APC member as an ambassador for Tinubu and other party candidates, urging them to promote the party’s interests through their actions and campaign activities. Radda also thanked residents of Katsina for their support and patience over the past three and a half years, saying his administration had recorded infrastructure development across the state’s 34 local government areas. He added that his government had consistently paid monthly allowances to APC officials at state, local government and ward levels.

Earlier, APC State Chairman Bishir Gambo-Saulawa commended Radda for strengthening the party and supporting the construction of its newly completed state secretariat. During the event, Gambo-Saulawa was appointed deputy chairman of the campaign council, while former Minister of Housing and Urban Development Ahmed Dangiwa was named director-general. Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji was appointed secretary-general, and Sani Aliyu was named organising secretary. Minister of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy Hannatu Musawa also praised the governor’s development efforts in Katsina.
