Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has reportedly arranged a private jet to take his family, close friends and other members of his inner circle to London for the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony.
The 19-year-old winger is among the leading contenders for football’s most prestigious individual award, and he wants the people who have supported him throughout his journey to share the occasion with him.
According to Spanish journalist Víctor Navarro, Yamal will travel separately from Barcelona’s official delegation, choosing to make his own arrangements for the trip.
YAMAL MAKES SPECIAL TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS
The reported private flight will allow Yamal to attend the ceremony alongside members of his personal circle, including family and friends.
The decision has attracted attention ahead of the awards night, as the Barcelona forward prepares for what could become a defining moment in his career.
Reports also indicate that arrangements have been made for a celebration if he wins the coveted trophy. However, the final outcome of the award remains uncertain.
ANOTHER CHANCE AFTER LAST YEAR’S DISAPPOINTMENT
Yamal’s preparations bring back memories of the previous Ballon d’Or ceremony, when he was among the favourites to win the award.
Despite his impressive performances, the trophy went to Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembélé, while Yamal finished second in the voting.
The young Spaniard did, however, win the Kopa Trophy, which recognises the best young player in world football.
This year, he returns to the competition hoping to go one step further and claim the main prize.
ALL EYES ON THE LONDON CEREMONY
The upcoming ceremony will place Yamal among football’s biggest names as the nominees await the announcement of the winner.
His performances for Barcelona and Spain have strengthened his reputation as one of the most exciting talents in the game, making him a major talking point ahead of the event.
While his travel arrangements suggest that he wants his closest supporters by his side for the occasion, only the final voting result will determine whether he leaves London with the Ballon d’Or.
For Yamal, the ceremony represents another opportunity to turn his growing influence in world football into one of the sport’s most prestigious individual honours.
