Former Ekiti Governor’s Reported Return to APC Takes Centre Stage as Party Intensifies Grassroots Mobilisation Ahead of 2027
The APC campaign train continues its journey across Nigeria, with Ekiti State providing another notable moment in the party’s political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi was publicly presented at the APC rally, where Vice-President Kashim Shettima raised his hand before the assembled supporters.
According to Headlinenews.News, which covered the event, the gesture followed Fayemi’s defection to the APC amid the controversy surrounding the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The public presentation was significant. Rather than merely appearing alongside the Vice-President, Fayemi was visibly acknowledged before the rally audience, an important distinction in reporting the political event.
The development comes amid continuing legal and leadership disputes within the ADC, which have generated uncertainty about the party’s political direction.
For the APC, the Ekiti rally provided another opportunity to demonstrate its grassroots organisation and the participation of prominent political figures in its campaign activities.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu continues his nationwide political engagements, while Vice-President Shettima, governors and party leaders undertake mobilisation activities across the states.
The political significance of Fayemi’s reported return will become clearer through his subsequent public declarations and activities within the party.

NATIONAL PATRIOTS POSITION
“It is better late than never. The National Patriots welcome Kayode Fayemi aboard the APC campaign train. Having returned to the fold, he should remain loyal and steadfast, without further political wavering. The train is gathering momentum, and the journey continues nonstop towards January 16, 2027. Loyalty and commitment matter.”
